Ferrari 599XX - New Nurburgring Record
The Ferrari 599XX claims to have just became the first production-derived sports car to break the seven-minute barrier at the Nurburgring, lapping it at an astonishing 6:58.16. But is it really a record?
Ferrari says the 599XX is the first “production-derived” car to lap the ‘Ring under seven minutes, although using the word “production” here, while technically true, seems like a stretch. The 599XX has Lexan windows instead of glass, a trick active downforce system complete with trunk-mounted fans, costs $1.5 million, and isn’t road-legal. In our book, that’s pretty far from production, no matter how similar the bodywork is to a regular 599GTB. Regardless, 6:58 is blisteringly quick and a testament to the 599XX’s monstrous performance levels.

But can it drive itself like the GT-R?
Who cares how fast a car is if it doesn't have more techno widgets than a 5th gen fighter? Sure it's fast, but it doesn't use TECHNOLOGY and that's why Ferrari is shit.

LOL like the article said. Not even close to a production vehicle. And since its not a production vehicle it's not really an impressive time.
If the ZR1 had lexan windows, racing seats, and practically no interior (and what is there, was in carbon fiber) this car would be destroyed.. Just sayin'

Had one of those give me a point by last weekend at Summit Point in my 80HP N/A Miata (Highlight of my weekend), obviously once he got more comfortable with his car he got ALOT better, but the first day I was pushing his shit in through the turns. Me and Shawn22 both actually.
