My bro is gonna let me use his car since he lost his license for like 9 months. How does expired registration work. In New york u have to turn in your plates and wait the amount of time it was expired before you can re-register the car. Is this true in virginia or can i go pay the registraion fee's and start driving the car myself. DMV was no help she didn't know the answer herself on this one.

Dmv would be the one to talk to they should know the law for that. Ask for a supervisor or something
