Personally i jsut got a silencer and then told the judge about how much it changed back to stock. she was like so it fixed it, and i was like yeah, and got mine dropped. but either way, whats the cost of the ticket compared to the cost of changing back to stock??? gotta figure that into the situation

Beating It
I tried to beat it several times, usually to no avail.
Try these methods:
Find a pic of your car, or a car like it with stock system, then get a pic of your loud exhaust and tell the judge that you removed the muffler and show her the first pic second.
Or...install a silencer, or tell the judge that you did.
Or, just fix it and bring in the reciept.
VA exhaust laws suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I agree, I don't know how you guys put up with it. I'm never changing over my PA plates. PA cops were kewl, they'd laugh as you did burn-outs in dunkin' doughnuts. Down here they set up road blocks everywhere and I'm too afraid to drive my car anywhere. I will never drive up Damn Neck again. They have road blocks there all the time, luckily I've always been in my JEEP. Everytime I go through them in my JEEP, I see about 15 civics and integras pulled over with cops circling their car and writing. VA cops suck and I'm afraid to drive my car ...
Since my shop is at the beach, I can't believe kids still cruise down there. Bike cops pull over anyone who's not stock and they get a ticket no matter what. I saw a poor kids integra get towed in front of my shop because he had clear corners and started mouthing off to the cop, they got into a verbal battle on if they were illegal or not and he got arrested and the car got towed ... all over some clear corners? WTF?

My friend has dual exhaust on his truck and they are really loud and we go down to the beach all the time and pass by cops they dont bother us because we are not trying to show them off we are doing it for performance. Just pay the fine..(cheaper)
