Question engine replacement

How much does it generally cost to replace an engine if it locks up.

EX: one of my cars is 97 camry / 4 cylinder . The engine locked up.

Any places where I can get a good deal? and how much

i dunno engine swaps usually never run the same afterwards...too many little things you forget one little electronic sensor or it doesn't match up or the engine ur putting in has a slight problem, it's over and you're out of cash...

my wife has a 96 camry, same engine...those things are built solid, how in the world did it lock up?

If you are able to source the engine local, try chking out one of the performance shops locally. Give Ross a call at percision auto @ Dyno Tuned Performance. If it's just a stock for stock replacement it shouldn't be to much. Look up his number in the shops section sticky at the top of the 757 section.Business Name:

Precision Auto
AKA Ross at DynoTuned or DTP Racing

Full Street Address:
820 Greenbrier Circle Unit 15
Chesapeake, Va 23320

Buisness Phone:

well, if the person doing it is retarded, i see your point. however, if its done professionally, those problems basically dont exist. granted, there is always the parts failure scenarios, but if it was done correctly by a tech that knows what they are doing, it is guranteed it will run better than it did.

they are VERY common for oil pump failure due to oil passage coking. if we dont install at least one jasper every year in a 94+ camry, something is wrong.
