E46 M3 vs. S13 SR20DET w/ Tein Type HEs

Re: E46 M3 vs. S13 SR20DET w/ Tein Type HEs
hah, well, it may look like a John Deere to you. But you'd be hard-pressed to be faster than my lowly Naturally Aspirated bone stock KA. Don't believe me? Check the scores from the autocross section (NASA event at VMP on 3/27). My lowly tractor laid waste to STi s, a Supra TT, and M coupes alike. SO, how are you able to call me a farmer and what makes you so much better?

yea but are you going to deny the fact that your N/A KA is a faster car on a road course than the M Coupe? or is it because of driver ability?

I would say my car is faster, just not in auto-x. Fast is relative but, congrats on being a good driver and whipping "faster" cars

hah, if I were driving an M coupe that I was comfortable with and knew as well as I know my 240, I'd definitely put down better times (at least I hope so ). However, that would be comparing apples and oranges; one is a purebred sports car, the other spent the first 140,000 miles of its life as a commuter car. It still comes down to the driver.
Eeterp, what are you driving? A lot of autoX is driver ability, so learning with a shitty car and becoming good with that can make you really good with a well prepped car. Example: at a recent autoX I drove my friend's stock mkIV to a time 2 full seconds faster than his best and a second faster than in my 240. In other words, I've learned on a shitty car that is well prepared, then drove an unprepared car that I'm familiar with even faster.

I have a 240sx as well. I have several suspension upgrades but, someone with nice coilovers (ie. kei office, zeal) should kick my butt in auto-x, even if I have more horsepower.

take it out and see. A car with a stock configuration can be extremely competitive if driven well. Going out there playing will make you a better driver and eventually you may become competitive.

It's 90% driver anyhow. That was my original point. Congratulations on ignoring my entire point, and instead picking out the comment I made on someone else's car.
