Dominion Raceway - New VA motorsports facility opening fall 2015
 

Anyone else see this? Or know more about it? Seems like a pretty badass facility if they get it done. I think they will, construction is underway and it seems to be well funded. Right off I95 between richmond and DC.

1/8th mile drag, 4/10 mile oval, 2 mile road, karting, skid pad, 3 story main building, helipads...

I like the idea of this. Although, last I heard it was going to be somewhere between Richmond and 757. If it is almost in DC I'll just go to VIR.

There was a project that was to be in New Kent called Dragon's Ridge that fizzled out a few years back.


This place is supposedly, as I have not physically seen it, much further along and will actually happen. NASA has already booked dates for this facility in the 2015 season.

It's nowhere near D.C, it's about 10 minutes down the road from me. Exit 118 on 95 N ( Thornburg ).

Yeah looks like nasa has dates scheduled for as early as june of this year

That oval looks tiny! Just what the mid atlantic needs another nascar venue. The road course looks decent. Albeit this course is the same size as summit circuit. Track doesn't look very technical but it does look fast. I'm a dumb v8 driver so thats good enough appeal to me. I maybe moving to the DC area soon, and this would be very convenient.

it's 30-45 mins from RVa and about an hour from DC, 15mins from my house :D

I thought it was going to be a 1/4 strip, 1/8 mile makes me sad. Road course will be nice...

So excited for this! Probably like 40 minutes from me. VIR and Summit are too far to make trips often, so this will be nice.
