Comments & opinions on high end kit cars
Talking about Lambo kit cars specifically.
I am clueless on the topic, have been reading a lot, seems like a cool thing to own.
I have gone the Lotus Elise Route, spent some money there. Considered the SRT-10 route ...gone the Vette + mod route.
These are all fun cars... Obviously at this time in my life a lambo is out of my price range. HOWEVER, a kit murci isn't necessarily out of my price range...being around 30-80k ...It would appear to hold it's value decently. Was thinking of purchasing one early next year maybe... getting a bigger motor in it / turbo or S/c it as well...depending on the specific taste of the car.
What are the thoughts of VA driven. Am I being completely ignorant purchasing a fake lambo...or would it be kind of cool to own one?
I am not sure if the "if it's not a cobra, don't put cobra emblems on it" rule applies to kit cars. Can't make up my mind.

Don't go for a Lambo rep, go for something that's actually unique. My beef with lambo replica kit cars is that they're trying hard to be something they'll never be.
Go for a Factory Five GTM maybe, or an Ultima GTR.

The only way I'd do a Lambo kit is if it was VERY close to the original in terms of looks, and if you put a real-deal Lamborghini V12 in it.
If you want a replica of something, do a Ford GT40 replica. There are a good handful of quality GT40 kits out there that are very similar to the original (some are near exact replicas, IIRC) and many have modern-day enhancements in both comfort and performance.
There are also some spectacular Jag replicas out there, check out D-type/XKSS replicas and XJ13 replicas.

Problem is these kits approach the cost of a REAL Diablo, especially if you're using a Lamborghini powertrain.
I guess you COULD use a Jag V12, that could potentially be pretty cool.
