Civic Engine Swap? Need help choosing!

Just purchased a 97 civic with high miles. The motor is about wasted so i need to look into getting a new one. I would like to get a more powerful one but reliability is the most important. So i was thinking a stock used motor from a junkyard or online store. Im not that familiar with what motors fit in what cars and what is involved. I need suggestions for a cheap motor swap for something that is better than the original motor. Thanks for the help!

What are you goals with the car? That is the first thing you have to figure out. How much power do you want to make? Will this be your daily driver or track car? Turbo or all-motor? What is your budget? Once you figure all these things out then you can start shopping for a swap.
