bumper question
my bumper has been mangled and is rubbing on the tires and cant be bent out of the way enough. the only solution is to remove it but what is virginia law regarding bumpers, must i have a front one or not?

Didn't find anything specific about the requirement of "having" a bumper, only height requirements. It doesn't really matter anyways because they'll get you for not having a front license plate.

^^^That would be equivalent of deciding whether you ride around without a bumper. If they want to stop you, they will. I was riding with a friend down Va Beach Blvd, cop pulls him over and asks,"Do you know why I pulled you over?" My friend replies, "Uhhh.....speeding?" He says,"Nooooooo.......your license plate in the window" and handed him a fix it ticket.

I got into it with a cop before about this (the plate thing). He nor I could find any laws regarding where exactly the plate needed to be placed on a car. All the law states is that "the plates need to be displayed on the front of the vehicle". I argued that the my plate was on the front of the vehicle, the front windshield. He eventually gave me a ticket.

damn well i talked to the dmv and they said you must have a bumper. anyone know the law says about what the bumper must be made of, i was thinking a nice 6x6 piece of lumber
