BMW 1 series M...
So, I'm seriously starting to fall in love with this car. Reading some reviews online, from European owners that have already taken delivery, the car sounds like it's absolutely amazing. But I'm curious when we'll start seeing them in the states. Thought I read somewhere that a few have already shown up, and some may be delivered around the middle of May.
I test drove a 2011 135i at Checkered Flag BMW yesterday, and it was a blast. I could only imagine how much more fun the M is going to be. I wasn't really interested in the 1 series at first. Was mainly looking for 08 E92 Ms, but now the 1 series has seriously caught my attention. Anyone have any info on when we might see the 1M around here? Crazy waiting lists? Crazy dealer mark-ups?

Crazy mark-ups. They make not much more power than the 135i. They look a little better, and they have better suspension...but as a former 135i owner, i think you're better off scooping one of those and tuning it and putting it on kws.

Re: BMW 1 series M...
Shouldnt be any dealer markups, and you could check with the military program, I got the number laying around somewhere I'll try to find for C&C on saturday. The one dude with a black e9x M3 got his for like 20K less than invoice through them.

Re: BMW 1 series M...
yeah i don't think there's going to be a marked performance increase over the 135i. i haven't done a whole lot of research on the subject, but if i'm not mistaken it gets the 335is twin turbo n54, a fancy body kit and wheels and some m badges, maybe a few suspension tweaks thrown in.
i'll take an e92 m3, thanks. unless you just REALLY want a turbo 6 over a v8... which, to say the n54 responds very well to modification. $895 gets you 60whp right off the bat...

Curb weight: 3340 lb

Zero to 100 mph: 10.9 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 20.1 sec
Street start, 5–60 mph: 5.0 sec

FUEL ECONOMY:
EPA city/highway driving (C/D est): 19/26 mpg

I know through the BMW military buying program here in Germany though they have locked in pricing right around 40K.... makes me think about it. It .4 seconds faster than the 135 in the 1/4 and achieves .97g on the skid pad compared to the 135i of .91g and if you spend an extra 900 like that you could def be in the 12s... seems nice.

Re: BMW 1 series M...
To me, that's a lot of money for a tiny but heavy car with 335hp. I just can't get on board with the 1 series. The whole pricing point and weight just makes the 3 series way more appealing to me

Re: BMW 1 series M...
it was hockenheimring, shorter and curvier...
Also the 1M gets all the extra coolers and stuff from the 335is... which makes a huge difference if you track it. 135/335's tend to go into limp mode after a few laps from oil temps being too high.
