Black cars...
So I just got a 91 MR2 that needs some paint. I really want to paint it black, but I've heard that black cars get ridiculously hot in the summer. But usually people who say that, don't actually have black cars. So I was wondering..
Is it really that bad? Anybody have a black car that knows?

Re: Black cars...
When i had a black civic it would piss me off because you could see every spec of dirt and imperfection in the paint. Hell it looked dirty right after i washed it. But it looked good from 5 feet away.

I own a black dodge ram, and of course I am very anal about keeping it clean. I wash that damn thing at least once a week, weather permitting. When I can't wash it ,and it is dirty, I freak the hell out. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a black truck. As far as temperature, I really don't notice any difference in the summer between my black truck and my silver truck.

i've owned a black and white car
to say the truth black shows so much dirt it aint even funny
white shows dirt to but not as much as black
the whole summer warmer thing isnt true, at least to my knoledge
but if u paint black, youll be washing it a lot trust me
when i had my lude, i was washing that bitch just about 5 times a month
it was a nice color, just not worth the time lol
