BG Synchro shift or Penzoil Synchro Mesh
I'm being told that both of these products are good and, supposedly, just as good as one another. Is this true? Any experience?

I use the Penzoil in my Integra. It stops my LS Tranny Third Gear Grind for maybe 6K miles every time I change the oil.
I think it's the same as the GM Synchromesh.
I don't know anything about the BG, though.

So you change your motor and tranny oil at the same time every 6k miles? I guess i need to switch to penzoil synchromesh.

Sorry, I meant the oil in the tranny.
I change the tranny about every 10K or whenever The Grind starts to get on my nerves. The car had The Grind for about 70K miles before I started using Synchromesh and the stuff stopped it in its tracks.

yeah, i used the gm synchromesh in my prelude. make sure to get friction modified. the only problem, is the shit is expensive. my cost as a dealer was $7 something per quart.
now ive heard that pennzoil or quaker state makes an equivelent (sp?) to the gm stuff, but im not sure. i havent tried that one.

Yeah but from what I heard, the $7/qt is worth it because it makes your car shift like butter. Right?

PLEASE don't put any Penziol products in your vehicle. Not good at all.
The GM Synromesh is about as good as it gets, its pricey, but's what's $7/qt to keep your tranny happy? It's like buying a $5K TV and getting dollar store cables to hook it up with. Spend the money and you won't regret it in the long run.
Another one I've tried and like a lot is B&M TrickShift. They sell it at Advance Auto and last time I checked it was around $5/qt.

I know S2000 guys use a mix of FM and regular because supposedly the FM's additives can prematurely wear the synchros if you use too much of it.
