Best well-rounded NEW car for $20,000 today?
I need some opinions guys.
I did this less than a year ago when I was looking for a new car and ended up buying a SRT-4. I have no real regrets in purchasing it too...
...but now since every project/older car at our house has been sold, my brother and I are looking for another new car. We want a new or nearly new car because we need a warranty (no less than 3 years) to keep everything headache-free while he's in college. I did the exact same thing when I bought the SRT-4 (and I purchased an additional 7 year warranty) so it all worked out great for me.
It comes down to this:
What is the best buy car for around $20,000 with at least a 3 year warranty today? It can be new or used as long as it it no older than a 2003 with at least a 3 year warranty.
I have some ideas already, but I want to see what everyone elses's thought are on this.

I would say the new Hyundai Tiburon GT that come with a 10 year or 100k powertrain and a 5 year 60k mile bumper-bumper, or an Acura RSX.

I bought an 06 mazda3 hatch for 18somethinorother
I like it
whats the goal here? I picked the 3 because it was more practical/usefull than my miata. But it's still youthfull and "sporty". Gets decent gas mileage. Has great resale value. Typical warranty. Drives nicely and everything, it's comfortable, has good space for friends or shit. the 2.3l is pretty good. Got the manumatic. Didn't wan't a manual because I just got sick of it with the miata, but it's nice to be able to take some control when you want it. Plus I think it looks nice.
I guess thats my offical recommendation.

I think an S2k is not a well-rounded vehicle. Its purpose built.
Some of these cars you can't get NEW for 20k and below.
RSXS and TSX are both mid 20's.
The Tib SE would a good idea, as well as an mazda3. I think GM is offereing America's Best Warrenty now so you could go get yourself a nice Cobolt. The VW camp is pretty good, but they can quickly get above 20 if you add options.
How about a new civic? non-si.
