It's a pretty simple question.

I was wondering what people tend to use when they black out intercoolers... and also how they go about the process.

i'm sure a black primer/spray paint combo would work just fine. I've known a few people who has sprayed a logo or brand name on their intercooler cores and didn't have any problems with it restricting the flow or cooling capacity.

Anodizing it would be the proper way. But I'd just put a light coat of spraypaint on the front and call it a day.

Well any shops around here that are good for anodizing radiators/intercoolers?

dont use black paint or primer unless u want to lower its heat transfer efficiency.

i know a few ppl that have anodized parts in their house as well.

Not local, but this is the best:

You'll have to ship it to them.

if you use the paint right it wont affect it atall. the trick is not to spray it directly at it.(makes the paint go in the fins to deep) paint at a 45 degree angle or a little greater from the face that way only the verry tips of the fins get painted. only the edges are generaly exposed to enough light to show up shiny so thats all ya need to hide, and dont use much! just haze it. otherwise you can block some airflow too. I did it to mine and obviously nobody ever sees it coming

I'll consider shipping it out to have it professionally done then.

The intercooler dimensions are literally 32.5" x 11.75" x 4" and it's got some weight to it, so the shipping is gonna cost me. I'm a cheap bastard.
