B6 A4 or E46 3series
Im havin a hard time figuring out wich one i want. Ive owned a 95 M3 before so i know lil bout BMWs but i really like Audis i just having a hard time picking. Any input will be appreciated.
Lookn for halfway reliability and im lookin to spend around 10k on one so itll prob have 80k-110k on either one i buy. just lookin to hear the pros and cons between the two thanks alot.

After reading his post over again, I've come to the conclusion that OP clearly stated E46 M3 /sarcasm. You sir are a fucking idiot, op posted five sentences, none of which stated his intentions were to purchase an e46 m3 for 10k. @NiceNlow, I personally would choose the BMW based on feedback I have gotten from friends that have owned them. I have yet to here anything bad about there build quality, comfort, or reliability. As far as the Audi goes, I have nothing to add about them

Title says E46 3series consisting of quite a few models, i would be glad to post a wiki link if you would like to review them. Most of these models are in the op's price range. Op also stated he has OWNED a 95 m3.

3series and M3 are too similar. Op should have used 3xx or something.

I don't know a damn thing about the Audi's...they do look nice though and one hit me (an S4) in December during that ridiculous amount of snow we got.. I drive a e46 so i can tell you a little bit about them..
service records are a huge huge plus (obviously). cooling system is a known weakness. water pumps can and will shit the bed in which case you must stop and turn the car off immediately and get a tow truck. radiators and expansion tanks are both mostly plastic which as we all know, perform fantastically well around hot water and pressure These ( water pump, t-stat, radiator) should be one of the first maintenance things you do if you don't have any records and you're looking at a 100k car. Other than that the engine is pretty solid. Rear subframe is a known problem too there's a class action lawsuit on it. seems to affect the earlier models more but the dealer will inspect for free and should take care of it. i haven't done mine yet, but i need to real soon i think there is a time limit. with an 80-100k car you'll want to refresh the suspension, either with stock stuff or drop the damn thing like you should control arms, bushings, etc.
If you can swing a 330 do it, but the 325 isn't too bad either. FI is the only way to make real power with one of these.
check out http://www.e46fanatics.com and you will find way more info. Good luck!
P.S. If you're good with a set of wrenches you can DIY a hell of a lot of stuff and save a boatload of cash. BMW's seem to be fairly easy to work on, at least the e30-e46's in my experience.
