Audi s4 info?
right now i'm considering a couple of cars for the near future. the e46 330ci and the b5 audi s4. i've got more than enough info for the bmw (i've wanted one for a while) but have just started researching the s4. can anyone point me in the right direction or have any personal experience with these cars? thanks.
oh, and i just started browsing audizine, and thats about as far as i've gotten.

Re: Audi s4 info?
Look for one with low mileage because it'll start to kick your ass around 60K miles. Tie rod ends tend to go bad and the turbos won't last much past 70K miles if you're driving it right. And other little stuff like the "info screen" in the dash usually go out so you'll need to budget for that.
If you don't mind spending money and working on the car yourself you can find deals on the ones that need some work. The cheap ones may already have bad turbos so be sure to ask the seller if any of the common problems have been addressed.
If you can't find a super-low mileage car and you don't want a "fixer upper" your best bet is to find one that's already been upgraded to stage 3. Those have usually been worked over and all the susal stuff has been taken care of. Stage 3 cars will run ~10K more than an equivalent "fixer upper."
It's a labor of love with the S4, but when all the bugs are worked out they are fast, fun, and surprisingly good handling while still being relatively quiet and luxurious.

I absolutely hate their forum layout, but the info there is on point.
P.S. Buy my car.
