Armed Forces Traffic Ticket
My friend got an Armed Forces traffic ticket going 37 in a 25 in Oceana NAS. She said theres no fee involved, no court time.. i heard these tickets go up chain of command if youre in the military. but if youre not? then what happens? Im interested to know more about these..

Re: Armed Forces Traffic Ticket
well it depends on the ticket...
i have been pulled for 37/25 as well
got a brown little piece of paper (i am civilian).... never went on my record, never had a court date, never got anything taken away and it seemed all the documentation was in my hands and in the MP's hands.
i too would like to know where the hell it goes from there.

A military ticket works like this.....
military: duty free ticket, however you have to report the violation to your First Sergeant or Commander the next duty day and they decide your punishment.
civilian: duty free ticket, however depending on the circumstances, you'll be escorted off base. You'll then have to appear in court where a judge will decide your punishment.

I can't speak for other installations, but on NNSY or it's annexs, if you get a ticket you will be going to a military court as a civilian. I know plenty who have...

i personally had one on nas ocean i think it was35 in 25 and nothing came of it ... it works on a points system ... you get too many they take away your base driving privileges ... if it's only a speeding ... if you don't show proof of insurance ... you have to go to a court clerk or somewhere and show proof within 30 days ... but that point system is if you're military .. i dunno about the civilian stuff... i wouldn't recommend tryin to race on oceana.. you wouldn't get more than a run in ... and yeah they're bored as hell...
