Anyone want to drop some advice for a single cam build?
 

:D so i am looking to build a single cam either a y8 or z6 just want something quick and reliable enough well atleast for a year. i was thinking doing some simple stuff i.e.

1) High Comp pistons stock bore
2) Rods
3) OEM Valves
3) i dont know what the cheapest camshaft i could get would be
4) OEM water pump timing belt kit
5) Head Gasket Rings Rod Bearings
6) OEM Valve springs

any brand price or extra part advice will be very appreciated :D

I would advise not to go with a high compression single cam. Boost it if your going to do anything with it.

Cheap and reliable normally don't go in the same build. Just my .02

unless you are just dead set on having VTEC, i'd just take whatever bottom end you've got, throw an a6 head on it and put a Crower cam in it.

I messed with D series for years, i used to swear by them.....they simply make ZERO power n/a and thats all there is to it. You can build a sneaky lil turbo engine with them but as far as going high comp pistons etc...you`re pissing in the wind, not to mention they simply don`t take to bolt on mods very well. Basically what i`m saying is you`ll drop a bunch of money with no real reputable gain what so ever unless you go boosted.

Bisi made 238 WHP on a shitty N/A D15B2 and put a CRX in the 10's with it.... but yeah D -series aren't a capable platform for N/A setups:rolleyes:

What kinda power are you looking to make exactly? I mean, like they said you aren't gonna make any decent numbers without boost...

You're the same guy that was looking to swap a motor in his civic on a college kids budget. How about you stop fucking with Hondas and get an education and get a better car afterwards.
