Default For anyone using/purchasing a Walbro 255 Fuel pump...

Upon consulting with a local Airtex fuel pump representative and buyer, I asked a few simple questions mainly based on quality control and pricing. Somewhere during the discussion, we got on topic of Walbro pumps and the popularity of the Walbro 255.

I was informed that Airtex sells a Walbro 255 fuel pump. My skeptical side was kicking in as he told me that Walbro sold Airtex their 255 pumps and Airtex put them in boxes and sold hem under the part number E2448. Wishing to disprove this at first, I went back to the shelf and grabbed two E2448 pumps. I carried them out to the counter and un-boxed them.

To my amazement, both pumps clearly stamped with the Walbro logo. I immediately pull up the internet and google the numbers on the pump which pops up Walbro 255 on all the search results. So I search "E2448 same as Walbro 255" and find that lots of people have already figured this out.

The next day I made contact with a representative from Walbro, who also confirmed the information that I recieved from the Airtex representative. These Airtex E2448 pumps can be had at your local parts store for roughly 68 dollars. Use the right Advance online promo code and you can get them for even cheaper. Through Advance Auto and AutoZone they also carry a 1 year warranty.

If you already knew, great. If you have your doubts, I could care less. I have been to 2 stores each of 3 different parts chains and seen the same thing across the board.

Hopefully this will save some of the local VAD guys some time and money.
