Any interest in a large Road Trip to Import Reactor in Texas in march..
Im trying to see if there would be any interest worthy of Southrnfresh actually putting the time to organize something like this for us in the south east to take a road trip as a group to Texas for Import Reactor in March 2011. Groups from virginia, tennessee, carolinas, florida, alabama, miss, and La , all adding to the group on the way.
Just a quick thought of the route would be,
-VA group come down catch the NC and SC group
-Tenn group come down to ATL, along with the carolina/va group
-Arkansas/miss/ Florida group come to New Orleans, and meet with the GA/carolina/tenn/va group
-And we all make the final drive to Houston
Thats just a quick look at the map and estimate of the trip, The planning would be time and deciding if we may have to allow some of the people driving from VA and Carolinas, or Florida group be able to catch some sleep since they have the longest trip to make. But that can be added to planning. And also
The meet was held in the Woodlands last year, and from what im reading it will be held in Houston near Reliant Stadium, or near the Convention Center.. still trying to pin point the exact location. But i know its in Houston for sure.
The event is more than a car show its held with Anime Matsuri, which is a huge pop culture convention. So there will be plenty of extra things to do than just stand around with hands in your pocket.
With things like this the show is the show itself is not the best part of the event, its the meeting people and being amongst cool car folks and having a good safe time.
MArch 18th and 19th so hotel reservations would need to be made for those days atleast. We will have to get with some of the houston residents to find reasonable and good hotels in the area for us to base our reservations off of. But this is just a interest post.

Id like to hear if anyone would be interested in making this happen or making the trip in general... We are based in Atlanta, so we would really need help in organizing these rollouts in other states and getting the time coordinated etc..

Seconded, that just sounds awful, VA to TX over 1300 miles (not to mention having to make stops in Atlanta and NO, making the trip even longer) to see this?

some people like to travel and do things like this... its a 2 day event more to do than just look at cars. the whole weekend was full of other stuff going on with the dyno tuning day at Secret Services with Smoky nagata!, and Houston's scene is really huge so there will be plenty of things to get into im sure. Stopping in atl, and NO will be neccesary for you all sake if anyone. Its just an outreach to the Va people who may want to attend, road trips are fun to me and alot other people, who like to drive. And the show is only part of the fun, we did alot of traveling last year to events all over..and its soo much fun.
