Any first-hand experience Mk1 Audi TT
I'm curious, if anyone has any experience with the 1.8t 225 TT, whether they worked on them, owned them, know anyone with them. Just give some general opinions on them! Negative or not ;D
Thanks!
Thanks!

Nothing firsthand but the neighbor up the street had one that was a great car. They're mostly Golfs under the sheet metal, which is pretty much the only decent car that company makes. Look into the auto trans. If it's the same one they put in the Golf/beetle/Jetta back then, it's fucking shit and should be avoided at all costs. Other than that, they're great cars as long as you keep up with the maintenance.

The 225 are All quattra, with the majority having 6-speed manuals (upgrade option for 6-speed auto... Don't think they had those in the mk4 golfs? Could be wrong)

I like them. Customer of mine has one, we service it regularly, no major issues to date. Outside of constantly putting tail light bulbs in it, but it's had that problem since day 1

Probably not. Maybe in the R32 but I'm talking about the shitty regular trannies that they put in the base Golfs.

Owned one, great, fun, convertible.
I didn't feel like a teen ager in a cabriolet.
Only reason I ditched it was moving from the U.S.
I have considered picking up the latest incarnation.
Besides my MINI, I have never gotten more smiles per gallon. Peppy little car, LOADS of mods if you wanna, fairly decent DD.

I pushed one around for a week when I worked at the dealership. It was the turbo convertible.
Like Tatt said fun little car to drive. Got pretty decent gas mileage. But I'd sit in one if I was you first you might not fit being a bigger guy.

I have a 180 near me right now I'll check into for size. But I'd honestly just do a little work, and do a tune to make like 250-300whp and be done. I don't need anything fast for a dd. I just want an older, boosted car that won't exactly break the bank.

I had a 2003, and loved it. Had coilovers, put some r8 reps on it among other small mods including a tune. Was fun as hell to drive around in, but got made fun of regularly for having a chicks car. Not that I cared.
