By alpines deck online. Local stores rip you off. Alpine has red or green lights depending on mode.

Local stores allow you to look and play. I've never seen red lighting on alpine, just green and blue. Do new decks come with red lighting?

You can look at mine sometime. I think I have 7894? Like a year and half old. Mine has green and orange(not red) lights (like orange lights in bmw). But I saved 150 bucks buying my Deck online.

I used to be huge into car audio - I've always loved Alpine cd players.

Pioneers are also very good for the money, and the new Kenwoods don't look bad.

What always turned me off from the Alpine was the $ for what you get..

I've owned 2 Eclipse HU's (one being an indash tv), a Nakimichi CD45z, and about 4 Pioneers (latest was the silver one with mp3..)

Check them out also.

If I was you your best bet for under 200 is this pioneer

http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PIODEHP6500

or this alpine

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39750]

I have the alpine 9813 and it is great, plenty of power.

Do you already got amps for all your speakers or do you need a built in amp. If so get one with v-drive. If not get higher end model that doesn't have amp at all.
