alignment for lowered cars

was wondering if anyone knows where a good shop is to get my car aligned, reason im asking is cause my car is too low to get on the alignment rack for most places that have the lift that your have to drive up on....so im looking for one that has it where you just drive on...if anyone can help i would appreciate it

thanks

do you have a camber kit? If you have have your own kit and want a complete 4 wheel alignment or do you just want you toe fixed ( streering wheel straightened ) Call 499-8777 ask for herb he is my boss.

There was a thread on this the other day. Anyway, here you go:

Bert's Alignment in VA Beach
305 Rose Marie Ave (Behind the U-haul on VA Beach Blvd)
(757) 499-2828

Ask for Chris Alvarez. My Civic was dropped 2 1/2 inches. They don't use lift-type alignment rack. They drive your car right into the bay, and everything is done from a "pit" beneath the car. For $280 he did a 4-wheel alignment and dialed in my camber (I didn't have a camber kit).

Hope that helps.

True, Berts has done a couple of cars for me (with no camber kits) and I have been very satisfied with the results. I'm sure they can help you out.

are there any other places that are good but a lil cheaper. I have a WRX that is lowered but not as much as most hondas, only 1.75 inches. And my camber can be adjusted by a bolt in the front struts(i dont know much but i was told by someone to tell the mechanic working on my car to tell them that) Any places in VB that you guys reccomend that are in the $100 range for alignment?

Just my $.02, but if a mechanic you took your car to didn't KNOW he could adjust the camber on your car by a bolt on the strut, I wouldn't let him work on it. You should find someone with experience working on WRX's. You get what you pay for too.

What he's saying is it should be cheaper for cars with adjustable camber from the factory, it only takes a couple minutes and you can do real-time adjustments with laser alignment racks (just turn the bolt till the display reads the setting you want.) There is no overhead cost at all - most shops charge 60-90 an hour, and this takes 20 minutes, alignments are extremily overpriced (at least for my car but I guess they figure it's easy to get away with. :( )

Okay, I get what he's saying.

I'm just skeptical about people working on my vehicles that aren't familiar with them. You know? Have you ever gone into a place to get some work done, and you feel like you know more about the procedure than the person you're paying to do the work?
