Re: air intakes question......
a cold air is better. When air is colder, it is more dense, and when air is more dense the oxygen can work together with the fuel to create a stronger explosion, thus making more power. Similair to what a hood scoop or intercooler works to accomplish.
As for where to get a car fixed... I guess that depends on the kind/value of car. When I'm working on my Mustang, I only use dealership/OEM parts. However, when I'm working on the Honda, I'll use NAPA parts.

holy fuck, here's a thought... go do some of your own research for your damn car (or hell... how cars work in general) before you start trying to mod the fucker.

Re: air intakes question......
Just to add a little more, a cold air intake will make power at lower RPM than a short intake, simply because of it's length. Apples to apples, for the same intake air temp, a short intake will make better top end power than a cold air. This is one of the reasons you can also find short intakes with a heat shield for the filter. This gives the power of the shorter length intake with the lower intake temps of a cold air intake.
