Aerocatch hood pins
hey i just got a used cf hood and it is already cut for hood pins, which is what i was planning on doing even if it wasn't, but i dont wanna use the chrome ones that stick out mad far so i was checking out aerocatch's flush hood pins. anyone used them before that can tell me if there decent?

They used to be about $80 a set, I haven't bought any since they first came out on the market many years ago though.
They're the only type of hood pins that I consider worthwhile, or maybe they're the only ones that don't look like shit, I dunno which is more important..

Kind of surprised to hear you say that since normal hood pins are perfect in their simplicity, they are the epitome of function over form.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. All hood pins do the same job though, so I'd rather go with the ones that look subtle and are flush mount. I like that the Aerocatch plates spread loads over a large area instead of a small hole and flimsy backing plate, and come in locking versions.. Basically they all do the same job, so you might as well get something that looks decent even it costs more.
I am kinda sad that they came out with the faux carbon though; Aerocatch pins were the upscale alternative for motorsport use and then they went ricer with the faux carbon.. I guess that indicates what their biggest market is, and it doesn't appear to be motorsport any more.
