Perhaps you drive the car wrong? I put on average 3-4k miles a month on my G35 and have put 32k miles on it just since I got it in March and it's been the most reliable car for me(my 13th) and I consistently get up to 28 mpg on the highway. I posted your G on a forum awhile back as I thought it was a great deal for the price, but was told by 2-3 members who live near and have seen you that you drove the piss out of it.
That being said, I'd aim for a 6mt Acura if possible. The TL's seem to have had bad tranny's in the early years and the previous generation as well. I had an auto 2003 Cl Type S and those trannies were ticking time bombs. Great cars otherwise if well cared for, but still wrong wheel drive for me. Good luck in your search. Hit me up if you want to make some money on the Brembo's that are on it.

As for selling it, you are right it was a steal at 7900 a month ago.. Carmax has given me a cash offer valid for 7 days so I dropped the price to 5299, literally no other g35 in my condition can compete at this price. I'm just trying to ge tit off my hands and not take a lowball from carmax.
But I agree with you, TLs have had a history of poorly conditioned transmissions, cant say if thats Acuras fault or just owners not maintaining their car, but yeah im taking a risk. I would love a 6mt TL, but being a daily driver i can't handle another manual.

^you're right but i actually think the '04s did also, the first year of the 3rd generation TL. '05 and beyond were okay though. I'm not getting anything later than '06, and you can bet i'm checking every single maintenance record available, so hopefully the trans should'nt be an issue.

Got a 06 TL with 16,xxx on the clock at a dealer in PA for 19,2xx back in 2011. Look at some of the Acura dealers the one I work at gets some every now and then with about 50-90k on the clock.
