yea can he put that much HP to the ground??

EEK 10-15-2003 11:17 AM

his hatch weighed 2600???damn mine only weighed 2170 with out me in it

rhman15 10-15-2003 11:47 AM

It is a dyno queen, look what the 700 horse dynojet cars do. They spin alot, so don't expect much of a time out of that car.

nothing. 10-15-2003 11:51 AM

I was waiting for that, but I expected it from hendrick;)

nickyroo 10-15-2003 11:53 AM

it doesnt start to make good power til about 5,500 rpms.

rhman15 10-15-2003 11:55 AM

Some of the faster guys(hondas) I know around don't even know what power they have. They just tune at the track. A time is more important to me as well as having the car run good as whole.

EEK 10-15-2003 12:00 PM

^^ are you talkin about a straight track car?

nickyroo 10-15-2003 12:16 PM

that car would be insane from a roll.. well.. as long as he didnt hit any bumps on the road and takes out the front of his car :p

Is that a bad thing?

Mr.2 10-15-2003 12:43 PM

if you want more than a drag car, then yes.

nickyroo 10-15-2003 12:45 PM

that civic is making over 700hp... but isnt making over 400hp til almost 6,000 rpms. it probably lags like hell.

Carter 10-15-2003 12:47 PM

he's got slicks, he can't be a dyno queen. :p

you all know you'd take it in a heartbeat, so stop hating.

thats why you just use b16 or b18 tranny get rid of the lag...loose a lil bit of power though

Isn't that what it is? How often do you think a motor that revs to 9500 rpm would be lingering around 5500 rpm?

Who cares about lag. If you want to make big power numbers efficiently with Honda motors you have to use a large turbine. Large turbines are normally associated with lag when you use them on small displacement engines.

i never said it wasnt. i just answered your question.

Just making sure. :D

Mr.2 10-15-2003 01:18 PM

personally it would be for me, but thats just me. im not into drag racing. im building my car to have a broad powerband (rather than peak power) that i can take to the track (the kind with turns), run the piss out of it, and drive it home with no problem. but hey, if you want to go for peak power and low et's then go ahead with your bad self. its your thing, have fun with it.

1badITR 10-15-2003 01:29 PM

The lag is a good thing. He can get the car moving before all the power comes on. Lag is a good thing when there are traction issues.

That is true. If you had all that power low in the rpm's it would be spin city in fwd. Kinda bothers me that the slick is hitting the fender in the vid, not a good thing. In regards to Carter's post yes I would take it but it is still a dyno queen.;)

you mean like the Forced induction racing inc. 460 Hp Spec-V that makes so much torq it can spin the slicks off if they arent screwed on throught the wheel? Thats what i call traction issues.......

On another note, if you can go to 9000 and make mad power then why would it be a dyno queen? I mean shit, from 5500 to 9000 come on thats a lot of time to put it to the ground.....And lets face reality guys, that car would destroy 7 out of 10 car owners cars on this forum......

Stillpushin 10-15-2003 09:59 PM

much more than that i am talking tlike 9.5 more than that, atleast.

Stillpushin 10-15-2003 09:59 PM

show me dyno's of anyone on this site of more whp than that. REALLY.

irrelevent

line up the few select sprayed busas on this site with that thing and see what happens. i bet that car doesnt hit low 10s

And what makes you think that?

nickyroo 10-16-2003 09:40 AM

if youre talking about a sprayed busa not being able to take out that car, i dont know what to say to you. busas hit 9s with pro drivers, big bore + spray = hold on and make sure you have some wheelie bars out back.

if youre talking about why i doubt itd hit low 10s or high 9s, the lack of time slips with that dyno sheet. why else would he have slicks on the front of that car? slicks that... do not fit on that car. a buddy of mine is hitting 10.30s in a 3/4 tubeframed 1st gen camaro with more power than that car. trapping 136, no nines. i sure as hell hope that guy has dumped the same amount of cash he did in the motor into the transmission and every other part of the car, otherwise hes gonna get on it and either spin or break stuff.

who has a 710 whp civic on slicks and doesnt have some slicks to back it up? dyno queens & people that break everything when they get on it

I was speaking about your comment that a 712 fwhp Civic is not able to run low 10's. Nothing else. It doesn't take that much hp to run deep into the 10's with a fwd.

yep , there's a 540whp jetta thast makes constant 9.6-9.9 passes.

b18bgone 10-16-2003 08:11 PM

inline pro was running a honda hatch this year that made a little over 700whp, and it ran 9.8sec 1/4 at one of the events over the summer.

MA-HALF-E 10-16-2003 09:19 PM

Some of the faster all motor Hondas are low 10s/high 9's with under 280whp. Of course, that is in a purpose built racecar.

DomokunSPL 10-17-2003 08:38 AM

eh let the 10 thread bs begin.

anyway. lag is over rated. just a down shift away and a little traction control. ppl who complain about lag are

A) people who have never driven a car with a big turbine
b) lazy
c) auto-Xers

PPL who swear by lag:

A) supra owners
b) supra owners
c).............supra owners :D

Haha the only time lag is ridiculous is when your in your supra and get your ass handed to you by a 355 spyder till 170
anyone see the mischief videos? yea you know what i'm talkin about. that fool lost.

bridge ported 20bt no lag MOOO t51R-KAI POWAAAA!!!

as for dyno queens...well maybe it doesn't run times but once you have the power its just a matter of a few sus. parts and some slicks

the phrase "dyno queen" has been tossed around more times this month then a year.
