Default 240sx (S13) Wheel gurus needed...

So I have recently just purchased a home and am currently selling a few cars to make space for a project in my garage. I've decided on an S-chassis, S13 to be specific. THIS IS NOT A WTB THREAD. I don't care if you have the perfect project for me, I will find that in due time, however, I'd like to get some opinions on wheel fitment first. The car will be lowered, probably on Fortune's or K-sports, maybe KW's if I can catch a deal.

I do not want your typical TE-37s, or Emotions, etc. I have my eyes on a few set of wheels, some people will love, some people will hate. I'm hoping to go 17's, preferably 17x8 and 17x10, but the offset is my question. I don't mind a fender roll at all, and a fender pull may even be in order. I plan to run 10mm wider fenders in the front so i should be fine there. I don't want 19's, and 18's would have to be ridiculously dope to make me go that route...17's on that car seems to be the money size to me, especially if I can find something with a 17x10 in the rear. I'd also like something with a lip.

I don't mind spending money on the right set of wheels, I'd like something polished/machined with a similar lip, no outrageous colors, MAYBE white...but I'm not sure yet. Also, I am going 5-lug to make things easier.

Wheels I had my eyes on (and yes, I know they are typical hot rod wheels):

So cliffnotes: I need wheel choices/options/opinions and help with fitment (offset/width/size). This is my first S13, thus I'm a nubcake. Thanks to all in advance.

On basically stock bodied S13s you can make 10s work all around...you'll just need to stretch the tires.

17X10 +12ish up front and +5ish out back, 215/45 up front and 235/40s out back probably a mild pull out back.

Those wheels are not my style, but if you're looking for something that is 5 spoke with a flat lip for cheap look at the Mustang replica wheels they sell. I am pretty sure they're 17X10 +25 or something, so you can run a 10-12mm spacer up front to clear your coilovers and run a 15mm spacer out back. I am pretty sure they've got a 3" lip or so.

If you want to make fitting the fronts easier get some 9s up front in the same offsets I mentioned for the 10 and the same sized tires.

Haha, love the wheels and the car, but that finish is a little much for me, I am really fond of a satin or polished look.

I'd like to stick 17x8 or 9 in front, and 10 in rear on 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 in the rear. So i should be in the +10 range roughly? I've got a few more wheel choices that I need to look into the sizes. The boyd coddington espadas (posted above) are 2pc wheels, thus I have the option of picking the exact offset I want, but I'm limited on the front (only 8" width).

Running an 8/10 stagger on a 240 would be stupid. I would recommend running no more then 1" difference between the front and rear wheels.

If you want to run a larger sized tire up front get a 235/40. A 225/45 is just too tall of a tire, you'll be skyjacker status height wise and run into rubbing issues if you actually try and lower it down. If you want to run a 9 +10 I would recommend a 215/45, and you just wont fit a 255/40 on a 10 on a stock bodied S13 without running a +25 to +30 offset, they just don't have the room. Up front you can't run higher then a 9 +20 to +25 without hitting your front coilovers.

What are your goals with this car? Do you want something that just looks good, are you planning on road racing, perhaps drifting? I can recommend wheel/tire combos based on your answer to that a little better.

yeah it kinda depends on what type of fitment you are looking for. An 8in wide wheel up front would have to be in the negative offsets to fit good no matter what tire you run and a 8in to 10in stagger will not look proportional. Is there a specific reason you want staggered? How are you only limited to an 8in wheel in the front if you can get a 10in wheel for the rear?

As for your coilover selection depending on what you plan on doing with the car im pretty sure KWs will not give you the ride height you want.

Also a 9in wheel with a 225/40 will be a pretty straight up and down look. If you get a 9in wheel I would say get a 0 offset and run a 215/45, if you want a more stretched tire get a falken 512s or 452s if you want a not so aggressive stretch buy federal 595s. if you get a 10in wheel for the rear get 225/45 (same thing goes for tire brands) If you want a straight up and down look add a size in width to what I just mentioned. Also if you want to run 225/45s in the front (like your dead set on tire sizes) I would run a 245/45 rear not a 255. In my opinion 18s is the money size for s13s anyways but thats just me.

Front to rear fitment on s13s is pretty even. meaning if you can run it on the front you can run it on the back.

Have you found 10mm fenders? If so i wouldn't even waste my time unless you are trying to stuff as much tire as possible under them but in that case why would you stop at 10mm.
