i need fix the horn on my 04 jetta tdi and i figure out how to get the air bag out of the steering wheel can any one help?

i have the official dvd at home with instructions but don't know off the top of my head. obviously you will want to disconnect the wiring and fuses. are you sure the air bag needs to come out to fix the horn?

well the wires that go from the sensor to the horn have been cut so im guessing i will need to install the whole thing over again but im not sure

situation 1:
when you use the key fob to lock the car, does the horn toot?


situation 2:
when you press the steering wheel horn switch location, do you hear the relay?

is it a 3 spoke or 4 spoke steering wheel? heres how to remove the airbag/entire steering wheel for a 4 spoke. they say for the 3 spoke its a little different, there apparently is a safety tab inside the hole that releases the airbag (on the back side of the wheel) that needs to be pushed to the side so that you can slip a screwdriver in and press the air bag release.

when u use the lock button on the key the horn works but when you use the steering wheel it dosnt work and thank you wesnot9 for the link i will look in to that
