none for a DD, if you are looking to spend 20k on a car, i doubt you want to foot the bill to fix it. hell the clutch on that porsche is almost 5k to replace at the shop. the bmw is cheaper to maintain. the 911 will garner more looks and a tad more respect than the m3, but for DD status, dont do it. there is a reason people mostly buy new bmw, cuz thier maintenance is free for 4 years. after that they fall apart.

if you do buy one of these, make sure you go online and grab one of those $1000 maintenance plans from a "warrenty" company, like warranty direct. call them before hand to see if your car is elegable before purchase of the car.

but to answer your question...... 911 is def way to go, respond so much better to boost, and easier to pull power out of....and if you manage to find a newer 911 turbo or 4s motor, they swap right in bolt for bolt, just take the ECU and guage cluster.

wow, thanks for the great info. My main concern was the 911 maintenance but it has always been a car that I love and didn't think 8k miles DD a year would be too bad considering I'd sell it within 2 years because I get bored very easily with cars. I did actually look into a warranty and I can get up to a 3 year drivetrain warranty on it for $890 which only covers motor/tranny/water pump and I have to pay out of pocket $1k for new tranny, $2k for new motor and nothing for pump (if they go).

You should probably honestly evaluate your mechanical prowess before making this purchase. Basically every car you posted has 60k-70k miles. Right around timing belt, water pump, etc time.
