My insurance on a 92 runner is only $650 a year 
and then my 99 civic is $800 a year and to top that off I have no car payments although I am looking at getting a jeep

When I was you, I bought a Mazda3
you could probably even get the S grandtouring (the top model. leather, navigation, cd/mp3/cdchanger, et)
