Why not? German car quality isn't what it should be. Look at Audi....or hell, look at Mercedes! They aren't what they used to be. Volkswagens are disasters, especially electrically, but that's nothing new.

Mercedes has been slipping in the quality ratings for years, I'm sure the collaboration with Chrysler doesn't help much.

is mercedes owned by chrysler?

"The defendants named in the suit are DaimlerChrysler and its Mercedes-Benz subsidiary"

sounds like it

I guess you have a lot of experience with late model German cars?

Or would your statements be based on some threads you have read and partially remembered a few "facts" from?

Damn that sucks. I couldn't imagine forking over 7 figures and the first time it gets driven, it has all those problems.

fuck that. it's not even so much that the car has problems... it's a piece of machinery, it's no stretch to imagine something might not work right. but the fact that it appears that the manufacturer is not attempting to rectify the situation in the most expeditious manner possible with the 'world's most expensive production car' is fucking re-Goddamn-diculous.

i've never really been a fan of mercedes, now i'm just straight put off by them.

i still plan on buying an e46 m3 as soon as i can afford one, however.
