Welded Diff
So I am finally doing my 5 speed swap in my 240 this weekend. Now its time to fix that open diff. Looking for a shop that will weld it. I can weld but i dont trust myself welding my rear end nor do i have a welder down here. Anyone know of any shops around the 757 area who would do something like this? I could just go with an lsd unfortunately after my 5 speed swap funds are kind of tight. I have a track day scheduled pretty soon and id like to get this done before i go. Thanks, Josh.

Are you serious...? Linkin locking has 0 give and you will break axles if you drive it on the street.
you must not know much about 240's. i know plenty of guys who have been running welded diff's on swapped 240s. they are drifters and have been holding for over a year with no problems. plus mine is basically stock power wise. this is a very common thing for a budget friendly 240.
LOL yea sure.... its your pocket. There is a shop off of london bridge road that will prob do it. They are a welding shop. You will have to take it out and take it to them tho. I dont know the name but its over by the head shop

It is very common place to weld the open diffs in 240s. I did it after I did my 5-speed swap too.
It sucks in parking lots but other then that it isn't too bad. I used to just dump the clutch when I had to turn around at gas stations.................that's not a highly recommended thing to do.

It's not that big of a deal with stock bushings and street tires. It's still not that great on the driveline, but it's hard to generate enough grip to do much more than prematurely wear things.
But, it's still a pretty ghetto thing to do.
