Default clutch rebuilder

anyone know of a reputable place?
would rather give business to a local before shipping off to someone out of state

google just brings up regular service shops.

TIA

You don't rebuild clutches anymore. That was something people did a long time ago. Now it's cheaper, smarter, and easier to buy a new one. Buy a whole kit and replace the flywheel bearing(if it has one) and the throwout bearing.

Don't know what to tell you then, other than post more info for others to help.

it's a 97 Saab 900se with torque capabilities in the neighborhood of or above 500lbs.ft (need a clutch to find out when i finish tuning)
only options when it comes to clutch kits are from SPEC and clutchnet
were having issues with SPEC discs
and clutchnet is a hit or miss on their kits

SPEC does have a twin disc setup, but it is not a direct fit (need a custom throwout bearing by them) thats over $1600

Are you looking to get a custom clutch? I don't understand why you need a rebuilder if you only have a single plate, so I'm assuming you're looking for someone to build something special...

Interesting thought: Tilton (among other companies) makes a 7.25 cerametallic twin disc clutch, and they make a 25mm-14 spline disc. That's not much different than the stock flywheel most likely (7.25 discs are 185mm) so some quick machine work to get the flywheel drilled and stepped would likely be all that's needed.
