For everyone recommending detailers, are these guys using these new coatings vs. wax? After PTAD1's post I've been doing a lot of reading and this new stuff sounds amazing.

Aqua wax is a nice one. Any detailer worth their weight probably does coatings. Optimum, CQuartz, 22ple, Americoat, Ceramic Pro are all good coating companies. Check out the autogeekonline forums and AMMONYC videos to learn more.

Carpro is another company. They make a sealant called Hydro2. Spray on and spray off of wet paint. Done. Saves me a lot of time.

Thanks for the additional info sir. I've been doing a lot of reading on Autogeek after your earlier post.

So, if you were to do the work, what would a ballpark amount be? '07 Mazdaspeed 3 with a decently maintained finish. It's had two "light" surface corrections with a DA, mild pad and meg's ultimate compound. It is washed and aquawaxed every 1-3 months. There is no oxidization.

It could use a more aggressive correction to remove etched water spots and light swirls. What do you estimate for this type of correction and finishing with one of these coatings?

I have never had a pro detailer do any work on my cars and have zero idea what this type of service goes for....

I saw a solid paint protection system a while back that was really more of an second layer of clear coat with more strength. I don't remember what it was called but it seemed to provide exceptional protection.

Depending on the amount of correction and decon you want done, and if you want to tack on an interior detail to all of that, Probably anywhere from 350-500. More if you wanted a coating. That price includes interior. That's what most detailers these days would be charging for a job like that. That's usually what that type of service goes for.

That would be a nano ceramic coating.

Thanks again PTAD1. I do pretty well keeping the interior clean, mostly just interested in correcting the clear coat and applying one of these new coatings. I've bookmarked this post and will PM you when I have some extra funds.
