Default O2 Sensor question for new exhaust.

Hey all! Long time since I've posted. But I have a quick question, and I figured it would be easier to Just... ask here. I am finally getting a new exhaust for my n54 335i, and there's one issue I've seen on all of them....... no o2 sensor placements. Now. This is easily fixed with weld-in O2 bungs. My question, though, since it's a different thickness pipe, will I need to compensate and lower or raise the sensor? I refuse to drive with a CEL on because of the, sensors.

Thanks!

Out of all the aftermarket ones I've messed with, I've seen them raised. On my old pos TT I had a super thick exhaust for some odd reason. It pretty much acted as one of those 02 spacers because it was recessed enough to where the sensor was barely in the exhaust stream, and I never had a CEL. I was also straight piped.

I may just measure the thinkness of thr pipe when I get it I'm and adjust from there. Though, I'm sure i could go in and disable the O2 sensor checks through the computer. I have honestly never messed with an exhaust that didn't have the bungs pre-installed. But thanks for the response!

Make sure you know what medal it is. I would compensate for the wiring's actual length by extending the o2 sensor height length with welds a little bit. So you don't damage the wiring. And go with Tig if you can too, its very clean. Mig can leave holes if you aren't careful. I hope that helped.

Yup! But... turns out, I'm Just an idiot. I listened to someone on the internet (not remembering whats under my car from my last time I had to remove the exhaust...) and turns out they were wrong. The four O2 sensors are on the downpipes only, not the exhaust on my car. Later models have the befores on the downpipe, and afters on the midpipe apparently. Ah well. Thanks!
