91 crx build need advice
Have a 91 CRX DX D15 manual. I am looking to build a daily drive able 285 whp on a decent budget. What would the d15 need, as far as internals, to safely run this power? I also have the option of building a b18/b20 for it, but if I can make the 285 I want without having to go through the hassle of a full swap that's my preference. Would this bottom end be set with a good honing, block guard, and connecting rods? Or do I have to take it further? Also, I don't know how expensive machine shop work like that is. And by moderate budget, I mean I'm willing to spend the money I absolutely need to in order to achieve this whp reliably. Obviously this is would be a turbo set up.
Thanks for all the replies, though if it appears most did not comprehend anything I typed! Haha I have decided to build a b18 for the car! I'm going to go with a block guard, block honing, and some good rods and pistons, head studs, a good hg, 3 angle, valve springs, good TB and WP, and then start hunting for the kit! Unfortunately this route has me spending the extra money on mounts and an ls trans, but I guess I'm saving by not having to deal with d mpfi swap! Thanks again

Re: 91 crx build need advice
Anybody who tries to squeeze nearly 300 horses out of a D15 build and wants to daily drive it is fucking retarded. Let me guess, you're poor too and want to do this really cheap?

You have to take it further, a lot further. And no moderate budget is going to make a d15 into 285whp.

You know what? Go for it. Build the car the way you want. But in the end when you realize it won't work, come back here so we can say I told you so.
