Default coloring carpet

does anybody know how to dye carpet. i tried using regular fabric dye but the carpet wouldnt take it. i let it sit for a few days and nothing. my carpet is not worn and does not have holes but it is stained so i just want to dye it black.

ya know...ive wondered the same thing. i would go to a crafts store and get the shit people use to die yarn and stuff...i bet its podent. just let the carpet soak in it for like 3 days...

i let it soak for almost a week. maybe a stronger dye will work but i know that carpet is made to be stain repellent.

Yeah you can get this stuff at like pep boys auto zone all those places it actually comes in an aerosol can, I know duplicolor makes it, I used it on the interior of a friends older chevelle and we also re-did his vinyl top and it worked pretty good, it lasted at least a year (after that we moved away)

We have a guy that comes to do interiors at my dealership. He does good work, I will ask him what he uses or see if I can get a price to do it. He has told me $40 to dye the carpet black.
