Interesting, I might do some in the BMW.
I googled sound deadening and came across a car audio forum which recommended using "peel & seal" from lowes/home depot. Many people stated that it was "the same thing as dynamat", and one guy even claimed that dynamat purchased this material and stamped their logo on it when their supplies got short... I was thinking "yeah, in internet everything is a conspiracy world, maybe."
Then I purchased it.
-Me, a former dynamat installer, and a body work guy all said "wow, same thing as dynamat."
-The backing is plain white, so the restamping may be valid, who knows.
Things to consider:
-Weight: Each roll (6in x 25ft) is only 4.1 lbs. I doubt most cars that are worried about weigh would take more than 3 rolls to do.
-Price: Each roll (6in x 25ft) is $12. That much dynamat is probably $150 or so.
-Quality: I'm VERY pleased. It molds and sticks better than I would've imagined.
Tips:
-Go from front to rear of car in floor plans, not side-to-side. This is obvious to some, but I learned the hard way... I had to go back over some spots on the passenger side.
-Brake cleaner is really good for cleaning your cutter afterwards.
The eye sore/candy:
All done:
I have a feeling I'll be doing every car I own in the future with this stuff.

I was thinking about doing this to my trunk for the subs. I will probably pick some of this up next paycheck lol Looks tight though![]()

I feel dumb for asking, but why is it better to go front to back instead of side to side?
