sucks for you, but all in all, i BELIEVE those hoods say to use hood pins with them as well as the safety latch... for safety reasons.

why not just drill some holes in the fucked up hood. borrow some hood pins and just say that there were hood pins in it. call and get a new hood.

If the hood separated that completely, it would mean that the hood pins had ripped through the hood skin. So faking it wouldn't work.
