Default Bronco II - Looking for input.

I picked up a 1990 Bronco II with about 151k on it a few months ago.

Everything works, starts right up, runs strong, 4x4 works. Manual trans doesn't feel too bad.

It's got a few electrical quirks, which I think is mostly from previous owners installed, and removing stereos and accessories, this assumption is based on the fact that I find random wires all ove the place that don't really lead to anything.

Valve cover gaskets need replacing as oil is seeping out while running. I haven't noticed a drop in oil pressure, but I'm not sure I trust that gauge.

Suspension is lifted about 3" although it's a "budget" lift, which I plan on replacing with a James Duff kit. It's sitting on 15s with 33" rubber, which is right where I want it. Once a quality suspension goes on, I'll be much happier.

Interior is in need of some attention. Headliner is trashed, carpet is trashed, just needs a total renovation.

That being said, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with, or knows someone that has a James Duff kit on a Bronco II. I'd really like to see it before I buy, but that probably won't stop me.

Can't beat Duff's stuff.

Absolutely more than proven on the 1st Gen Explorer platform. Hell, even all the SAS'ed guys are still using Duff springs and supporting components.

My dad has an 88 that we've been toying with putting the Duff kit on and we just haven't done it yet, mainly because there's more to be done to it first. I've been in and around those Duff kits and I would have to say that they are the best way to go if you're gonna do anything with that vehicle.

I plan on keeping this vehicle for a while.

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the Stage 2 Duff kit for it.

I picked this thing up for $1000. Awesome daily driver, just needs to be redone right.

I'm redoing the fog light wiring harness this weekend, and putting a set of Hella H1000 Black Magics on it. And redoing the interior, I'm going to stick with black for now.

The Exterior is rattle canned flat black over an original coat of silver. I'm really just going to leave it flat black, I have to sand the surface rust off of the roof and redo it.

Slowly but surely this craigslist gem will come back to life.

2 questions, just for clarity and possible future advice.

5 speed or automatic?

Automatic locking hubs?

Ok well you're in good shape then. I was gonna suggest swapping to the manual hubs because of the problems with the automatic ones. And the auto trans doesn't hold up well, but you've basically got both of those covered.
