1993 VW Passat GLX
2.8L 12V VR6
5-speed
162,xxx
Fresh inspection: 8/10
This is a rare B3 Wagon. They did not make alot of these VR 5 speed. This one is in exceptional shape. It is fully loaded, it was the best model you could possibly get. Every show i go to, it gets lots of attention. For instance, at H20 last year, there was only 2 of these wagons there. Both of those 2 were 4cylinders Yeah, so it has that rareness factor. It is a very fun car. Runs great, and it is a VERY strong vr. It has a great stance, and the wheel fitment is very sexy.
Engine:
-12V VR6
-Chains done last year
-Multiple seals and gaskets throughout the year
-Motor has been well mantained. Full synthetic amsoil its whole life, and done religously.
-Recently did ignition switch, battery, 120A alternator, terminals, coil pack, ecm relay, speed sensor, and much, much more. Spent over $1k at Das Autohaus(on May 25th) and it is in 100% perfect mechanical shape.
-Tranny shifts great. Clutch was done last year, and still catches great!
Just did new Waterpump, serp. belt, tensioner, and full coolant flush on 6/27!!!
New distributer, spark plug wires, vmaxx coils, camber bolts, energy bushings as of 8/8
New tires on the way as of 8/10
Brand new Hankook Ventus RS-2 tires all around. New inspection as of 8/29
Exterior:
-Paint is original, and still shines very well. The clearcoat is peeling on the hood. I have gotten 3 quotes to paint the hood, grill, and front bumper(has typical rock chips), the most expensive being 250. If the trade is worth it, this could be done
-Body is in great shape. A few small parking lots dings, but none are noticeable unless i point them out. There is a small ding under the drivers side taillight, just happened, getting quote from insurance. Very small. Definetly one of the best bodies i have seen. NO RUST!!!
Interior:
-All black. Leather fronts, with some cracks, cloth rears. NO cracks in dash. Interior is still in very good shape. i give it a 8 out of 10.
-All power. Everything works, and everything is there.
-A/C needs some lines to work. Heat works great.
-Sunroof with new motor. Tilts, opens, etc.
-Panasonic cd player with remote.
-PERFECT working MFA
Suspension and wheels:
-Vmaxx Fully adjustable coilovers. Brand new as of 8/8/09.
-The wheels are Borbet T's. 16x7 in the front, and 16x9 in the rear, wrapped in new Hankook Ventus RS-2 Vrated tread
-The fenders have been proffesionally rolled and stretched.
MODS:
-Vmaxx full coilovers
-Borbets
-Schrick 268 Cams
-Neuspeed Chip
-Neuspeed MAF, K&N Filter
-Eurotechnic Exhaust, 2.5" piping, amazing sound, flat black and looks great
-Canadian manuel seat belts, great mod
- will list more when they come to mind
-Cross drilled rotors, hawk pads all the way around
-4 Row Koyo(?) Stainless radiator. Slimline fans wired correctly.
-Low temp thermostat
*I will also include BNIB Brembo Vented Rotors, and Axxis Pads. The car does not need brakes, but i got these for a good price
The bad:
-Needs lines for the a/c
-Temp controls only work on 3 or 4.
-Front seats are a little worn.
This is a great car. If you are already a dubber, or are looking to get into the scene with a car that is sure to get attention, this would be great for you! .
Will get pics with the coilovers very soon
