Default 1984 Audi 4000s VR-t conversion

Name: David

Means of contact: EMail: tds.dave@gmail.com PH: 540-664-1 two two 4
Price: $5000 OBO Open to trades for a missile/track car/project (MUST BE RWD)

Description:

This car started life as any normal 1984 Audi 4000s quattro. 4 door 5cyl N/A, factory lockable center, and rear diff.

The engine was pulled, and an engine from a 1998 VW Golf 12V VR6 was transplanted. The engine had less than 70k miles upon swap. Before installation all necessary maintenance work was completed: timing chain/tensioner, water pump, arp head studs, mls head gasket. The car was fitted with an 034 motorsports billet starter for longitudinally mounted VR's. An 034 trans adapter plate was used to mount the VR directly to the stock audi close ratio 5 speed trans. It has #40 (440cc) injectors and a Turbonetics turbo. Chip tuned via C2 tune, custom intake mani, custom external wg dump out front fender, custom exhaust, custom custom custom, if you really want to chat about it PM me.

It still has both diffs in place, but has no front axles, so is currently RWD. It will need to have the downpipe modified to make front axles work. The engine swap/wiring/turbo were done by the original owner.

I picked the car up in pretty rough shape. No working brakes, three different shades of gold, and sounding like the suspension was going to come apart at every bump or turn.

Last winter the entire suspension was gone over, and anything that was starting to wear or was bad was replaced (list below). I can't express enough how there was no bolt left un-turned over the winter. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this anywhere. The car was then sent to be painted Hot Rod Flatz OD Green.

Negatives: The biggest negative to the car is the interior (or lack thereof). I picked this car up with the intention to do all the necessary drivetrain/suspension work, then focus on tackling the interior. As you can see from the picture, i never actually got around to the interior portion. I used my cell phone with a gps speedo app, and there are 4 gauges mounted on a sheet of abs plastic on the center console. They're fuel level, Oil pressure (not currently functional), water temp, boost.

Like I said above, I wouldn't hesitate to drive this thing anywhere. It hauls ass, and is pretty damn reliable for a 1984. It just needs a new owner that can either accept the shortcomings of the interior, or pick the car up and throw a stock interior back in her. (I have a contact back in virginia with a parts car 4kQ, and would be willing to part with the interior)

This car is registered as an antique, so it never has to go through any sort of inspection, and is a one time $50 registration fee. Come buy this thing and beat all your buddies in a loud ass german frankenstein
