My local Thunderbird Club Chapter is holding our last Summer Blast event this August.... We will be renting Mason Dixon Dragway in MD and we are inviting other clubs/cars/trucks/bikes if they would like to go. Here is the info I have copied from our website. The 2016 event will be held on August 18, 2016-August 21, 2016. So make plans and arrangements accordingly for your vacations-time off-etc.

*There may be some adjustment to the itinerary dependent on activities. Please check the site here periodically to insure you stay up to date.

Reservations can now be made at the Comfort Inn, Edwin Miller Blvd, Martinsburg, WV (Phone: 304 263-6200) Please ask for reservations under the Thunderbird and Cougar Club. Room rates should be $79.00 per room. They can tell you what's available. For those coming solo, try to share rooms with others so the expenses are split to make this more affordable. The rates and rooms will be held until July 29, 2016. Afterwards, they will be on a case by case basis.

*We will once again be holding the meet and greet at the Host Hotel (Comfort Inn) Edwin Miller Blvd, Martinsburg WV. Plan for Pizza/Subs/Barbecue, chips, etc as usual.

The planned itinerary looks as follows:

THU Aug 18- Meet and Greet at the Comfort Inn, Edward Miller Blvd, Martinsburg WV PH: 304-263-6200. Will start at 6PM until ??

FRI Aug 19- Car Show and Picnic Scheduled at the Main Pavillion, War Memorial Park, Martinsburg, WV. Plan on arriving there by 10:30 am. (I will see if we have enough cars and if I can get the escorted cruise to the parkII). 11:00 Am car show will begin till approximately 12:30-1:00. Picnic will begin around 1PM with awards ceremony to follow. Completion around 4PM? Friday evening cruise to Pettrucci's for Ice Cream social.

SAT Aug 20- Mason Dixon Dragway for Track rental & Racing.( Proposed-8AM-Noon). Saturday afternoon 3:30 PM cruise to Golden Corral in Hagerstown, MD for Dinner and afterward to the Car Show across the Parking lot at the Valley Mall, Hagerstown MD.

SUN Aug 21- Mason Dixon ALL FORD Car Show and Drag Racing, Hagerstown MD. Sunday after event OPEN!!!!!

Anyone willing to sponsor or donate to this event this year please contact me and let me know. I know the park rental will be $125.00 and the room rate at the hotel for the meet and greet will be $145.00. I will also be posting up costs for the attendees for the picnic/car show once I get some more information.

Additional Information:

I would like to see all the past members/attendees participate at this event regardless of MN12/FN10 etc.
The racing event will ONLY BE HELD IF we have reservations enough and paid in advance by August 6, 2016. So get all your cars, racing buddies, friends, etc here for this event. I'll be posting up cost as soon as I can. Remember, you must be NHRA legal for ET with the proper safety equipment per the track rules. More on this to come.
