1965 AMC Rambler Classic Convertible
Name: J.T.
Location: Roanoke, VA
Means of contact: email - skyhawc@cox.net
Price: $1750
Description:
Very unique and rare-low production #s car. 1965 AMC Rambler Classic 770 Convertible. This is a project car, but an extremely solid starting point. I began this project about 10yrs ago, and have lost time, and interest at this point. Plus I have another child on the way.
Car started life as a 6cyl, automatic w/ split-bench seats, I have converted 100% to a AMC 327 V8 w/ 4bbl, power steering, and Automatic w/ console shift and bucket seats. I have a ton of spare parts, and all parts/trim to complete car. Including spare doors, fenders, bumpers, hood, trunklid, and top-frame.
Engine & trans were rebuilt sometime during mid 80s, however has extremely low miles since rebuild, has not ran in a few years, but was store w/ Marvel Mysetery Oil in all cylinders, crankcase, and a small bit pouring into intake. Motor turns freely, and I will be getting it running soon (if time/weather permits) The front end will need all bushings replaced, rubber gave out on pass. side, and caused spring to kick out when I moved it earlier this spring. All parts are readily available through NAPA for a decent price...
This again is a unique car once completed, that'll be sure to get attention and questions. I do not NEED to sell, so price is pretty firm at $1750. If you have any questions feel free to post here or email me for a quicker response.

Re: 1965 AMC Rambler Classic Convertible
I'll give you $700 for it for the following reasons;
A.) I want to use it for lemons racing.
B.) You can rambler verts for cheaper (I do understand you are free to ask any price)
C.) It needs a lot of work just to be able to move. For a resto, TONS more.
We can even work something out if you wanna drive a race.
If not, GLWS and free bump!

Re: 1965 AMC Rambler Classic Convertible
Thanks for the laugh... I've been restoring, modifying, etc... antique cars for 14yrs... Rambler Classic Convertibles are not cheap... last 2 I've looked at were around 2-3k in similar conditions. There were less than 3-5k built in 65. I've personally owned 2... As for the work... only if you decide to farm it out... Typically a project of this condition I could complete in about 6months working on it only during weekends... But alas, I have other issues w/ a broken leg, child on the way, and other projects that are far more valuable both monetarily and sentimentally.... Thanks for the free bump though...
