nice subscribing to this as im building one myself, 86 short bed with a 5.3 ls motor. How low are you wanting to go i might part with my 5/7 drop that i just put on mine over the summer cause im going to bag mine instead. goodluck with your build

shave the mouldings,relocate the gas door,shave the front fender lights,shave the bed pockets,roll pan and thats good for the body...
and if you dont want to relocate the gas door,at least get a section cut out of a newer bed so the gas cap isnt visable...and hidden behing a door..

I want to get my hands on a 4x4 to tow this around when I need to, or a single cab dually.

Thanks, I've been thinking about doing a 5/7 drop, let me see some pictures so I know about how the ride height is incase I want to do it.
It'll have a sbc for a little while til I decide to build me an LSX motor.
I'll be putting a suburban or K5 blazer rear bumper instead of a roll pan. I'm thinking about putting a newer style short bed on there instead just have to move the tank and the fuel lines to the other side.
I'm not like the VW/BMW guys that drive rusty ass cars around.

this will be the cheapest you will ever find this bed...if you want it your best bet is to go get it asap...like tomorrow...ive paid 2000 in the past for this bed...and thats what they run at junkyards when you find one...
