SP miata and s2000 tested
It seems they have a miata "SP" in australia that is essentially a stock 2001+ miata with a turbo to the tune of 210hp, that thread is long but if you have enough patience to read it....basically the miata outaccelerated and outhandled the s2000, so either magazines are exaggerating about the s2000's chassis or the miata's is highly underrated.

my point is that given relatively similar power outputs, the miata's chassis handles better than the s2000's at high speed... (now if i could just save up enough money for that turbo...)

Is that really suprising considering how long the Miata has had to evolve? The S2k just came out.
You can't compare a first year Miata to a S2k since it's based on old technology.
And who really cares about stock car comparisons? Get some aftermarket parts to fix whatever it's lacking. Problem solved.

i'm not comparing a first year miata......test was with a 2002 miata and a 2002 s2000 (s2000 was modded by the way, upgraded suspension, clutch, 1st and 2nd gear synchronizers), i just think its funny how magazines always praise the s2000's chassis and after finding out about this article obviously the miata isnt doing too shabby either.
