yea where can i stick my pt cruiser, and also, how many cars would i have to bring to get a cruiser class? alot of shows tell us if we bring 5 or more cruisers we can have a class, we usually roll like 15-25 deep to shows.

generally every year it starts out as being the "best import other" category but on the day of the show my regular categories satisfy everybody so it becomes best overal import. as of right now it will be "best import other" unless on the day of show no "others" show up.

in response to the Pt cruiser question if you provide me with a significant number of PREREGISTRATIONS such as 10+ i will be happy to provide you with a PT cruiser class if not you will be placed in "best domestic other"

that would be nice if you let us set up a booth or something. we have a big event we are planning for september. so getting the word out is key.

I will NEVER go to a show there again. I went 2 years ago and everything you said above was the case then. JnJ Performance is pure shit.

ive taken it into consideration cause i hate competition between shows but my show has a partnership with the city o f newport new's parks and recreation department as well so me rescheduling makes a whole bunch of other people reschedule and the partnerships they have with recreational businesses so its a pain to reschedule but i appreciate concerns

Question though: are you guys gonna change that "club participation" class to "best club"?

If you're judging is score based, which it should be, then you take a teams top five cars and average each cars scores. Team with the highest average wins.

I hate to see clubs come to a car show with 15-20 cars that are all stock, or "race/jdm/clean"....none of which even place in their individual classes...and then leave with the 6 foot trophy, 'cause they all paid an entry fee?! Meanwhile, a 5-7 car crew will leave with every car sweeping it's class and were obviously the best club in attendance that day but don't get it.
Most shows I go to have trophis for both, but I understand why you guys won't. i just think if you gotta do only one it should be "Best overall club", with attendance being a consideration in determining that. not just who shows up with the most cars.

I didn't mean nothing by it. and it has nothing to do with being a "high end" show. I wasn't being over critical or trying to tell you how to run your show, but a score system takes the heat off judges. Say your score sheet has 8 categories on it with a possible score of 1-10 in each one(ext, int, engine, bodywork, paint, I.C.E., cleanliness, display/presentation). There's still subjectivity invovled 'cause the judge has to decide the 1 thru 10 but at the end of the day, you'll hear less bitching from those that don't win 'cause when you hand them their scoresheet back they'll see that they took zeros or scored low in some categories and be able to tell exactly why they lost.

Case in point...............at the Dialdin show at the norfolk scope in May I took second in my class losing to a car that I (and everyone else) thought I absolutely shouldn't have lost to. I requested my score sheet, and sure enough I had out pointed him in every category except "display". He had an excellent display but I didn't have one at all. yeah i meant no disrespect in my response to your question i feel you completely. and i have waged the pro's and con's of both styles of judging. i did convert my class participation to "best club" i honestly dont know what i will do since i have not gotten together my team of judges yet. im sorry if thats an answer that keeps you from my show and i remember the HORRIBLE judging that somehow got out of my hands last year so im trying to fix this problem this year to the best of my abilities. even though theres always a person who will have something to say but i appreciate your opinion and will keep you and the board updated.

With only about a week to go before the show I thought I would give thanks to some of the car crews/businesses that will (some for the 3rd time) support and participate in the show. So Big ups to Soundshop of course, Dreamworks/BlazinKreations, TTE, R.O.C., members of DVS Tuning, HR Dubs, Dan from Octane Magazine for showing interest (hopefully pix will be in one of the issues), and Parts Exchange. If I've forgotten anyone sorry I'll edit post later.

I went up there yesterday and registered they have 90 trophies and 5 best of that equals how many? If you don't feel you're up to the challenge of getting one of those 10 (or whatever #) trophies then step to the side and stop polluting these gentlemens thread. Believe me bro, I'm all about the trophies and more importantly the victory. Unless you own a Civic/Integra you should only be vieing for 1st place anyway.

Elemental Designs Nine.1 powering an Image Dynamics IDMax 12d2. It's in a small sealed box, I'm expecting like 133-135 but who knows. It's obviously more of a SQ/SQL woofer but I'm still curious :p . Highest I've heard of on a single IDMax so far is 144.xx. I'm not going to want to crank it too hard too long because like I said it's not coming till Friday

Go about 1.5 miles and bear right on to little back river road. Ride for hot second and the park is on ur left you wont miss it.

not in defense of the show but more in the defense of the organization running the show only but so many cars will show up when 95% of the people that personally said they would come to show to the organizers do not show up or show up too late to enter. And props to Circuit City for what they did with their show cuz that didn't help, I'm sure more then half those cars would have been at the Soundshop one if CC didn't have one that day. So just want to clear that up for shows in future, cuz participants and spectators of last two soundshop shows know it's usually a good show with 80-90 cars. And as a volunteer promoter and not a employed organizer (thus having really no power) I def. let them know what they did wrong to use as reference for future shows such as categories, location, prizes, dyno, etc.

As head organizer of this show i will respond once to this and leave it be. Alot of things went wrong sat afternoon. Alot of people didn't show up and alot of people went to the CC show. My DJ blew his amp, I have bosses that act like i dont know anything about cars/car shows and dont let me have more control. Some things at the show were out of my hands such as the crummy ass location, lack of prizes, and money spent on useless crap such as the carnival rides and what not when it could be spent on the things I need changed. At everycar show in the world theres always gonna be some people upset or not agreeing with things that went down. Ill start with the judging i was not a judge but one of the judges a close friend owned one of those M3's and the other one was completely stock so sorry they couldn't win against really nice/modded Vw's. All of the other judging is what it was I stand behind them and sorry if you dont agree with the results. I dont care if anybody hates no 2nd or 3rd place trophies I'm sorry some shows just dont have them and I have my reasons for it. Ask any of my past supporters my past two shows have been alot of fun. I'm not trying to make exscuses but you win some and you lose some. I was extremely dissapointed in my show due to lack of cars, if you couldn't tell by my lack of enthusiasm announcing the winners.(I was ready to go home) Alot of work and sacrefice went into this show and it just didn;t come together. Alot of people dont know,understand or respect that work but i dont really expect you too. I really think it was a setup because that Orange Acura CL was pretty much all stock. The interior was not that great the seats were all cracked up stock Susp, no rims etc etc. He just had a CF hood and a Fiber glass Body kit lol. It's one thing to lose at shows and you stil have fun at shows but that's just amazing that I could lose to a car that just got started modding. The owner even that he was going to lose and I told him you never know buddy and look what happen. I want to know what the judges were thinking, I really think I need to get some crazy body kit and some angle eye headlights with some crazy stickers to get noticed but if that's what it's going to take I'll keep it clean. I have yet found out by the show reps or judges why I lost to that CL that is my question.


Oh D.R.E did win Beat Honda at that show.

Meaning your judged with a score sheet........each category having a maximum number of points....exterior, interior, custom bodywork, lighting, i.c.e., paint, engine, and so on. Most of the time this helps "ricers :rolleyes: " like me to shit on clean cars at a show since they usually don't have all the bases covered...like no I.C.E., no body mods other than the "front lip", gutted or stock interiors, and just that boring overall stock look.
But I was saying that in your case, the point based scoring/judging would have actually helped. As you had 3 times the mods of the CL and they seem to have been done relatively well.
