Nice. Word is that WRX is going to be joining next year also.

I dunno .. it's still fwd. Driving a fwd car is like a dog dragging it's ass around the carpet to scratch it's butt. I'm sure it feels good though.

the graphics on that ser are ugly. The only good looking car on that page is the 350z. Id like to have those mods though.

alright ill change my statement, the graphics are kinda ok. The stickers make it ugly, but i guess you need all that for sponsors or something.

If there was no stickers it would look alot better

it made to get attention, not necessarily be the hottest thing out there. more attention = sponsors happy. of course, victory circle is a good way to make them happy also. i think the car looks hot. it's a race car. if it was a street car, i'd think it's a lil' over done.
im glad that they didnt forget about the oil filter cap cause i was about to say.

For a race car that thing is pretty nice. Most race cars are way overdone for the street as Dave mentioned. Hey Dave, A nissan thread with no reponse from me for 2 weeks. I can show restraint.

Here's a list of the mod's:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Engine:
Cylinder head- Mildy ported, mostly in valve pocket area, about 10% flow gain. Prototype JWT camshafts and valve springs otherwise stock.
Block- Prototype JWT long connecting rods, 148.25mm vs 143.05 stock. Protype JWT pistons with reduced size wrist pin and reconfigured ring stack for a thicker ring land for number one piston to resist detonation better but still allow room for a longer rod. Higher dome with approximatly 13:1 compression. Stock crank.
Intake- AEM
Header- Custom 4-1 Sunbelt
Exhaust- 2.5" open pipe
Fuel Managment- Motec
Suspension:
Ground Control Advance Design Shocks, external two way adjustable, shortened 2" digressive damping curve. Rear anti-swaybar, stock front bar.
Brakes:
Willwood Calipers, Coleman Rotors.
Reason why caught fire- misrouted exhaust overheated gas tank, blew pump o-ring and caused gas leak and subsiqunt fire. Sending unit for temp gauge had poor water flow so engine overheat was not detected.
To me the car is actulay not that radical and wold make a pretty awsome street car with reduced compression to 11:1 and a muffler!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you JWT! And they will be selling these parts for the Sentra very soon!

The first pic of the engine proves its a race car. Not pretty at all. Do you know where they put the MAF.

Motec. No MAF needed. You and I both posted at the same time.

I have no idea, I hadn't noticed that until you said something. Mike Kojima from Sport Compact Car is giving pretty much all the info on B15 (www.b15sentra.net). His screen name is "Smartbomb" on there if want to post and ask him. Here's a link to the thread: http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39791&perpage=15&pagenumber=7

Didn't you say that car had 260hp. If they got that power then they have some serious mods they are not talking about. They probably want people to think it isn't very modified to make the stock spec v and the series look better. BMW does that all the time. "stock bmw parts, just like the car you can buy" comes out of Bill Alberlands (SP?) mouth all the time. Makes Nissan (who I am sure supports the car) look good. I am sure they have tons of headwork and that thing is very finely balanced to spin to high RPM. Big cams would also be a big part of that recipe.

From what I've read it only redlines at 6,900 rpm's, but yes, they are not giving out all the info. As they put it, they are keeping the "good stuff" a secret for a little while.

I'm sure it has a un-streetable compretion ratio and the cam's I'm sure are pretty wild.
I just can't wait to see it on Speedchannel. My brother saw it on the first race but, it had problems and didn't finish, which is common in new race car's.

I dont know how they could get that amount of power with a 6900rpm redline, less displacement, mild cam, 10% increase in flow, high compression. They do take all load off the engine (water pump, alternator, etc). Still seems a little hard to believe. Good job.

The 258 hp and 221 lb torque ratings are to the crank and not the wheels, just found that out. Makes some more sense.

MOTEC's are usually MAP based, which means no MAF. I don't know about in NA cars, but in Forced cars MAP is a huge plus over MAF.

I saw the Motec after I read more about it.
