CORRECT OPEN THROTTLE BLADE ANGLE AT IDLE (CAUSED; BY LARGE CAMSHAFT & HEADS, USED TO ALLOW ENGINE TO IDLE)

CORRECT HIGH T.P.S. VOLTAGE AT IDLE

CORRECT S.E.S. CODE 21 (HIGH TPS VOLTAGE) AT W.O.T.

TRIM OUT BLOCK LEARNS ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT OPEN THROTTLE BLADES AT IDLE IS CAUSING THIS DISRUPTION

ATTAIN 30- 50 STEPS OF I.A.C. AT IDLE WITH BLADES CLOSED 100%




AND AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH: HERE IS THE FIX

1 FOOT OF 3/8" ID HIGH TEMP TUBING

ENGINE IDLES WITH 25-38 STEPS OF I.A.C. (BEFORE 80-100 STEPS WITH BLADES CRACKED OPEN)

THROTTLE BLADES ARE 100% CLOSED AT IDLE

TPS VOLTAGE CORRECTED TO 0.61 AT IDLE FROM 0.8 VOLTS

BLOCK LEARNS TRIMMED OUT

S.E.S. CODE 21 IS NOW GONE AT W.O.T.

OFF THROTTLE RESPONSE IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY

ENGINE SMOOTHED OUT DRAMATICALLY ACCROSS THE POWER BAND, NOTED KNOCK COUNTS DRAMATICALLY DROPPED TO ALMOST NONE

It doesn't bother me, I was just being a bit of a smartass. I am curious as to what caused the problem that you cured. Why you had to cure it, etc, etc? I just don't understand most of the jargan (sp?) that you used.

Somebody willing to learn something new is something i can handle, and enjoy...... just as much as i enjoy learning from somebody who can teach me......

Ive learned a lot just talking with Pat about his turbo eclipse.... I try to keep an open mind... and of course as most already know , who know me on this board.... know i enjoy imports and or domestics.....

To answer your question,

The Stock I.A.C. valve controls the idle speed of the engine.....

when a large camshaft, and higher flowing cylinder heads are installed, this increases the demand of CFM at idle....

Which the I.A.C. alone cannot handle.... without opening the Throttle blades at idle.....

which is incorrect.....

that was the point of the project... to deliver the right CFM of air needed to idle.... without cracking the blades of the throttlebody with the throttle stop screw......

Thanks, that's what I was wanting to know. Sorry, but I just have a smartass approach sometimes. I didn't mean any harm by it. I'm almost thinking about getting a 98 SS, I'm just looking around for the right one.
